Two people are behind what gets published on this site: one writes it, one sets the rules it gets written under.
Marcus Vance
Contributing Writer, Technology & Math Tools
Marcus writes the calculator guides and reference pages on this site: how the age math actually works, why the AVMA moved away from the old dog-years rule, what a growth-percentage puppy weight estimate is really measuring. He spent several years doing technical support and QA testing for small software teams before moving into writing, which is where the habit of trying to break a calculator before trusting its output comes from. He still opens the browser console on a new build before writing a word about it.
Outside of work Marcus keeps a running list of calendar oddities he wants an excuse to write about, the 2100 leap-year exception among them, and is slowly working through a personal project that logs where different browsers' date handling quietly disagrees. He is based in the Pacific Northwest.
Chris Terry
Founder & Editor
Chris founded this site and the small family of calculator sites it belongs to. He does not write the calculator guides himself; his job is setting the sourcing rules Marcus writes under, reviewing new pages before they go live, and handling corrections personally. The full breakdown of those rules is on the editorial standards page.
